WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?
Stem cells are specialized cells capable of self-renewal and, depending on their type, differentiation into other cell types. Regenerative medicine may utilize mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) sourced from donated umbilical cord tissue, including Wharton’s Jelly, collected following a healthy birth.
HOW STEM CELLS SUPPORT REPAIR
MSCs are studied for two primary mechanisms:
CELLULAR DIFFERENTIATION
MSCs can differentiate into specialized cell types and interact with surrounding tissues.
PARACRINE SIGNALING
MSCs release growth factors and other bioactive molecules that can influence local inflammation and support the body’s repair processes.
